Curriculum

This class is designed to expose dogs to a variety of exercise types including cardio, flexibility, balance and strength training, as well as mental fitness and confidence building. Each class includes a warm-up exercise, a cardio component, two or more strength exercises, and a cool down. Teaching any new skill to a dog will target their mental fitness and navigating new equipment will boost confidence and proprioception skills.

Instructor

The instructor for this class is Sarah Keegans. Sarah is a Level 1 AKC Fit Dog Instructor. Sarah trains her own dogs in a physically demanding competitive venue and understands the value of preparing your dog for sport and for every day activities.

Tools & Methods

Fit Dog is a reward-based class. Treats, toys, play and praise are generously utilized. Sarah recommends that you bring your dog to class on a flat buckle collar or on a harness. Bring a six-foot leash, lots of tasty, tiny healthy treats and a tug toy (optional), management chew (optional), and settle mat (optional).

Who It's For
