Spotlight On: Resource Guarding
Free educational event for local dog owners.
A free no-dog talk on understanding resource guarding, spotting early warning signs, preventing problems, and taking safer first steps.
Resource guarding is common, often misunderstood, and much easier to address thoughtfully when people know what theyβre looking at. This free no-dog talk will cover what resource guarding is, why it happens, common early warning signs, prevention strategies, and safer first steps for families who are seeing mild guarding behavior.
The session will include a short lecture, demonstrations, and time for related questions. The focus is on helping people better understand guarding behavior, avoid common mistakes, and think through practical next steps.
Please leave dogs at home. This event is designed for education and general guidance, not individualized behavior treatment. Dogs with a bite history, escalating aggression, or urgent safety concerns may need private support from a qualified professional. Although there is no fee for this event, registration is required.
