Curriculum

We’ll cover intermediate level challenges for obedience behaviors like sit, down, stay, walk nicely, greet politely and come when called. The classroom environment offers you the opportunity to practice these skills around dogs and handlers working on the same activities. The class size ensures plenty of individualized coaching. Portions of this class may be held outside, weather and activity permitting.

Instructor

The instructor for this class is Lisa Frank. Lisa enjoys teaching manners class because she can see the person and dog strengthen their bond and improve communication — all while working together to develop the dog’s skills. This occurs whether the dog is brand new to the family or a long cherished household member improving existing skills.

Tools & Methods

Intermediate Family Dog Manners is a reward-based class. Treats, toys, play and praise are generously utilized. Lisa recommends that you bring your dog to class on a front-clip harness or a flat buckle collar or regular harness. Bring a six-foot leash, lots of tasty, healthy treats and a tug toy (optional), settle mat (optional).
