There are several options for PosiDog Rowdy clients.

• If you were in the Rowdy Group Classes at PosiDog, you can join our Rowdy & Reactive Group Class at CynoCentric for a refresher. If you choose to do this, please let us know in your group class registration that you are returning, and which Orientation you would like to attend (Orientation is included in the Group Class price for PosiDog Rowdy graduates). It is highly recommended that you attend an Orientation as several things have changed and the logistics of getting into the building are quite different.
  
  You may want to consider also signing up for a Private Session first as well, to familiarize your dog with the building and new environment (although this is not required).


• If you were approved for Advanced Rowdy Class at PosiDog Canine Learning Center, then you may go straight into Intermediate Skills for Rowdy & Reactive Dogs without doing a refresher of the foundation class.


• If you completed one or more Advanced Rowdy Classes at PosiDog, you may go directly into New Challenges for Leash Reactive Dogs and/or Movement & Body Awareness for Leash Reactive Dogs. Of course, you are welcome to refresh your skills first by taking Intermediate Skills for Rowdy & Reactive Dogs.


• PosiDog Rowdy clients may take the private lesson Ready to Work without first taking the without-dog prerequisite.

There are several options for private coaching clients wishing to transfer to or supplement with group classes.

• If you have completed a Really Reactive private lesson prior to May 16th, 2023 (without your dog) and would like to transfer into the Rowdy & Reactive Program and take advantage of group classes, you may do so. You will need to take the program’s Group Orientation. Although there is some overlap, there is lots of different, group class specific instruction. Please contact us before registering for the Rowdy & Reactive Program so that we can send you a credit to apply toward the cost of the Group Orientation portion of the program.

• If you have completed a Really Reactive private lesson prior to May 16th, 2023  and one or more Ready to Work private lessons (at any time) where your dog was able to work around a helper dog, you may be able to enter the Rowdy & Reactive Program without the generally required private lesson included with the program. This is decided on a dog-by-dog basis. If you think you might be a good candidate for skipping the private lesson before Group Class, contact us and we’ll decide together. You will still need to attend the Group Orientation.

It truly depends on your situation.

The Rowdy & Reactive Program is the most efficient and cost-effective way for you to make progress. For most dogs it is the best choice. If your dog has reasonable interest in food/treats under normal circumstances (when no other dogs are around) and is generally comfortable in new environments, the program is likely a good choice for you. The intermediate and advanced classes available to graduates of the program are really very good, so it’s nice to be on track toward those options.

The exceptions might include

• You believe you will be too anxious to relax and focus on your dog in a group class. In this case, it is often good to take private lessons instead, or to take the Rowdy & Reactive Program and supplement with additional private lessons before starting group class to make sure you are ready.


• The dog is globally anxious and will have trouble working in the training environment even without other dogs being present. This dog may need things taken much more slowly and calmly than is possible in group class.


• The availability of group classes does not match with your schedule.


• Cost is not an issue and you would simply be more comfortable with a more personalized program.

Get your arms around this sooner rather than later. Preventing this problem from becoming more entrenched is priority number one.

• If your puppy is within range of one of our Puppy Classes go ahead and register. If it is too much excitement/stress for your puppy, we’ll transfer the remainder of your fee to private lessons. But there is a chance your puppy will adapt and adjust quickly, in which case the class would be very beneficial.


• Sign up for a Cool Your Jets, Puppy private session as soon as possible. This will help you understand how best to socialize and support your over-aroused puppy, both in classes and in the real world.


• Puppies who are too old for Puppy Class often can benefit from the Rowdy & Reactive Program. If you have additional questions about what is right for your puppy, please contact us.
